The Barcelona event calendar is beginning to fill up as the Catalan capital welcomes the return of the warmer weather, bringing with it endless colorful festivals and concerts galore. One of the first and biggest music festivals of the spring/summer seasons is the 13th edition of the annual Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. This musical extravaganza is a five-day fiesta packed to the brim with cool tunes, awesome bands and an amazing atmosphere like no other!

Musical Madness
The Primavera Sound Festival is renowned for attracting some of the biggest names in the industry, which over the years have included the likes of The Pixies, Pulp, The White Stripes and The Cure.
This year’s line-up is a dream-come-true for any muso, with legendary bands like Blur, Wu Tang Clan and The Postal Service set to take the stage. Some of the other more notable artists on the line-up include Australian band, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, rock sensation Pheonix from France, and Grizzly Bear, a Brooklyn-born folk-pop band.
Festival of Note
As the already amazing list of acts continues to grow, Barcelona is preparing for approximately 100,000 concert-goers to hit the two main venues of the Primavera Sound Festival 2013: Parc del Fòrum and the Arc de Triomf area.
Primavera Sound 2013 in Barcelona will last for five days, and although the full festival passes have sold out, day tickets can still be purchased for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 80€ per ticket. Free Concerts!
If you want to catch some live music action this year, but you aren’t keen on breaking the bank, don’t fret, Primavera al Parc is set to take place on May 25th and 26th offering free live concerts in the beautiful Ciutadella Park.
You can also head to Parc del Fòrum on May 22nd for the grand kick off of the festival as part of Primavera a la Ciutat and enjoy live performances by Delorean and The Vaccines for free!
